This 20 gallon copper moonshine still is a complete unit, hand built at Fort Wilkins in Pittsfield, New Hampshire. It comes fully assembled and water tested, so you never solder or seal joints with flour paste. It suits hobbyists ready for bigger batches of mash, water or botanicals. You get a 20 gallon pot, a stainless EZ Seal Cap, a 3 gallon thumper with a 4 inch fruit port, a 3 gallon worm with a 3/8 inch copper coil, and a temperature gauge. New to thumpers? The still is made from thick 20 oz, 22 gauge copper, much heavier than the thin copper on cheap imported stills. Heavy copper stands up to years of heat. Copper also reacts with sulfur compounds in the vapor, so your finished run comes out smoother and cleaner. Every joint uses lead-free silver solder, and the copper is covered by our lifetime warranty. It is a real alchemist's tool: copper, heat and vapor.

Understanding Capacity & Output
All of our units are sold by capacity. A 30 gallon still means you can fill it with 30 gallons of mash. The final alcohol yield depends on mash ABV. Example: 30 gallons of mash at 10% ABV will yield about 3 gallons of pure alcohol after distillation.
Note: These stills produce a wide range of spirits and are not limited to “moonshine.”

All of our units are sold in terms of CAPACITY, this means that if it is listed as a 10 gallon moonshine still, that means you can fill it up with 10 gallons of mash, which will end up giving you whatever your alcohol content is inside the pot. Example, if you have a 10 gallon pot, and 10% alcohol by volume in your mash, and you distill it, you will end up getting 1 gallon of pure liquor. Please also note, just because it says "moonshine still" doesn't mean it only makes moonshine. These units make a VERY wide range of spirits. As well as so much more.

How much will I get from a full 20 gallon batch?
The still is sold by capacity, so you can fill it with 20 gallons of mash. Your yield depends on how strong the mash is. For example, 20 gallons of mash at 10% ABV holds about 2 gallons of pure alcohol.
Is it legal to own and use this still?
Under US federal law you can buy and own a still of any size and use it for distilled water, essential oils and similar non-alcohol uses. Distilling alcohol to drink at home is not legal without a federal TTB permit, even for personal use, though a free TTB fuel alcohol permit lets you make ethanol for fuel.
