This 10 gallon copper moonshine still is a complete pot still that arrives fully assembled and ready to run. Fill the pot with up to 10 gallons of mash or water and heat it. The vapor passes through a 3 gallon thumper with a fruit port, where it is distilled again. Then it moves into a 3 gallon worm, where a 3/8 inch copper coil cools it back into liquid. A cap, a temperature gauge and instructions come with it. It is a good mid-size still for distilled water, essential oils and other projects. Not sure on size? See our sizing guide.
Every still is hand built at Fort Wilkins in Pittsfield, New Hampshire, from thick 20 oz, 22 gauge copper. That is much heavier than the thin copper on cheap imported stills. Heavy copper is built to last, and copper helps remove sulfur compounds for a cleaner result. All joints use lead-free silver solder, and each unit is water tested for leaks before it ships.

Understanding Capacity & Output
All of our units are sold by capacity. A 30 gallon still means you can fill it with 30 gallons of mash. The final alcohol yield depends on mash ABV. Example: 30 gallons of mash at 10% ABV will yield about 3 gallons of pure alcohol after distillation.
Note: These stills produce a wide range of spirits and are not limited to “moonshine.”

All of our units are sold in terms of CAPACITY, this means that if it is listed as a 10 gallon moonshine still, that means you can fill it up with 10 gallons of mash, which will end up giving you whatever your alcohol content is inside the pot. Example, if you have a 10 gallon pot, and 10% alcohol by volume in your mash, and you distill it, you will end up getting 1 gallon of pure liquor. Please also note, just because it says "moonshine still" doesn't mean it only makes moonshine. These units make a VERY wide range of spirits. As well as so much more.

What comes with this 10 gallon still, and do I have to put it together?
You get the 10 gallon pot, a cap, a 3 gallon thumper with a fruit port, a 3 gallon worm with a copper coil, a temperature gauge and instructions. It ships fully assembled and water tested, so there is no soldering like with a kit. Shipping to the continental US is included in the $899 price.
How much will 10 gallons of mash make?
The still is sold by capacity, so you can fill it with 10 gallons of mash. What you collect depends on the alcohol content of your mash. For example, 10 gallons of mash at 10% ABV holds about 1 gallon of pure alcohol.
Is it legal to own and use this still?
Under US federal law you can legally buy and own a still of any size and use it for distilled water, essential oils and similar non-alcohol uses. Distilling spirits to drink at home is not legal without a federal permit from the TTB, even for personal use, though a free TTB fuel alcohol permit lets you make ethanol for fuel.
